Technology

This pickup’s tech features are also sure to impress, like the Onboard Scales feature, which allows you to quickly weigh your cargo by placing it in the bed of the truck. There’s also SYNC 4, an infotainment system that combines media file playback capabilities with navigation assistance, smartphone connectivity, and other functions.

If you have power tools or large devices you need to charge, there’s the Pro Power Onboard generator, which is available for the bed of the truck, and if music is your passion, you’ll absolutely love the 18-speaker B&O Unleashed Sound System, as it combines high-clarity audio with deep bass.

Safety

As for safety, this edition offers plenty of smart safety features, like Pre-Collision Assist, which teams with Automatic Emergency Braking to notify you of the risk of possible collisions while applying brake pressure if one is imminent. Then there’s Intersection Assist, which can alert you if other vehicles are approaching yours when you’re making left turns at intersections.

Combining safety with convenience, there’s also the ever-helpful Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, a feature that can keep the vehicle moving at whatever speed you prefer while adjusting it to speed limits on road signs or changes in the flow of traffic.

Blending outstanding performance on and off-road with both a comfortable cabin and the newest technology, the 2023 F-150 is a pioneer within its class. Come see its other exciting features in person by stopping in and seeing us today at Devils Lake Ford.

The summer season is when North Dakota truly comes to life, and you can really feel that here in Devil’s Lake! While our winters are sadly long and cold, our summers are incredibly beautiful, so tourists and locals alike want to get out on the lake and into nature. Here are our recommendations for summer activities you must try this year in Devil’s Lake, ND.

1. Go Swimming at Black Tiger Bay

Devil’s Lake is famous for its lake,of course, so no summer here would be complete without a dip in the most famous lake of the Badlands! And there’s no better place to do it than this little swimming hole at 3820 83rd Avenue, with a pristine sandy beach tucked under a canopy of trees.

Summers get hot here in North Dakota, so jump in the lake to cool off, then run back to the beach to tan under the summer sun. And if you get too hot again, you can either jump back in or head for the shade in the forest. If you want to spend the evening (and the next morning) here, there are almost 100 camping lots available within a quick walk of the beach.

2. See an Outdoor Play at Fort Totten Little Theatre

Devil’s Lake’s own community theater comes alive each July, where you can catch the professional cast performing a famous Broadway act 3-4 nights a week. But this isn’t your typical town theater: the plays are performed with the most scenic backdrop imaginable on the shores of Roosevelt Park in Devil’s Lake and under the star-filled Dakotan sky.

The performance will surely wow you, and your family if you come here, and tickets are only around $15. Bring a picnic and make it a family outing!

3. Take a Boat Out on the Lake

Boating is what most tourists come to Devil’s Lake to do, and it’s certainly a popular summer activity for locals as well. If you’re into fishing, Devil’s Lake offers some of the best catches in the Dakotas, with summer being the peak season to catch walleye, northern pike, bass, and perch. Or if you’re into watersports, hook up a tube to your boat or slap on some water skis and turn the magnificent lake into your summer playground!

If you don’t have your own boat, our recommended place to rent a boat for the day is Woodland Marina, located at 1012 Woodland Drive. Rentals start at around $300 for powerboats.

If you get into a sport like fishing or boating, you’re gonna need a big, powerful car to bring all your gear around. And in Devil’s Lake, there’s only one great spot to get something like that. So drive by Devil’s Lake Ford to pick up a car that will lead you on the best outdoor adventures this summer, like the Ford F-150.

Your Ford has numerous electrical systems, from the spark plugs to the windshield wipers, and all these systems require a continual supply of power. The alternator is a mini generator inside your engine that produces electricity. Over time, the alternator can become worn or damaged, and you’ll need an alternator repair. These are some signs that you may need to visit your Ford dealer for a repair.

Starting Problems

If your car has difficulty starting, you could have a battery problem or your alternator may be wearing out. When the alternator gets older, it produces less electricity. The reduced electrical supply will affect all your car’s systems, and it also affects your battery. The battery uses a large amount of power to start your engine, and it depends on the alternator to replace this power.

A worn alternator won’t supply sufficient power to fully recharge your battery. This means that each time you start your car, your battery will become steadily weaker. If you hear your engine is struggling to start, it’s time to visit our service department. We’ll examine your alternator and replace it with a new one if it’s wearing out.

Dim Lights

As we’ve seen, the reduced power supply from a worn alternator impacts all the electrical systems. Your car’s computer will have to allocate the limited available power. As more systems are switched on in your car, electrical problems will start to appear. Dim headlights and cabin lights are both signs that your electrical system isn’t working correctly.

Your computer allocates just sufficient power to allow the lights to illuminate. As systems are switched off in your car, more power becomes available. The computer may compensate for the reduced power supply to the lights by supplying more power than they need. This will cause the lights to suddenly blaze very brightly. Our technicians will examine your alternator and repair or replace it depending on the problem,

Strange Smells and Noises

Burning wiring, grinding, and screeching noises from the engine can all be warning signs of a failing alternator. When an alternator starts to fail, it will still try to produce sufficient power for your car. An alternator generates power by spinning, and it will start to spin faster than it’s designed to. The faster movement can cause the alternator to overheat.

The wiring inside the alternator can heat up and start to burn, and the bearings in the alternator will suffer damage. Grinding noises are a sign that at least one alternator bearing has failed. We’ll need to examine your alternator to find the cause of the problem. If the alternator is old, we’ll replace it with a new one.

If you suspect an alternator problem, call us right away at Devils Lake Ford.

The transmission is a hot, friction-filled environment, and these conditions can cause wear to its parts and components. Most transmission problems are easy to resolve if they’re investigated when they start. Your Ford dealer can help you when you need a transmission repair. These are a few signs that you could have a transmission problem.

Leaking Transmission Fluid

Transmission fluid is the lifeblood of a transmission. It’s pumped through the system and provides a variety of benefits as it moves. The fluid reduces the temperature in the transmission and protects the transmission components against friction damage. It also provides the hydraulic power that enables your gears to move.

A fluid leak will increase the temperature in your engine. Gears and other components can become damaged as they lose friction protection from the fluid. A transmission leak is usually easy to spot as the fluid is bright or dark red. If you see a leak, call us ASAP. Our technicians will find and plug the leak and then well refill the transmission fluid.

Slow Response

Your transmission is designed to shift smoothly and efficiently through the gears. One of the signs of a transmission problem is delayed shifting. There’s an obvious delay between the gear shifting and the new gear engaging. When this problem first appears, it’s not easily noticeable. As time passes, the delay will become longer.

This delay might not seem like a problem, but if it isn’t fixed, your transmission can be damaged. The delay in shifting places extra pressure on the gears and gear teeth. The most common cause of this problem is a lack of transmission fluid. Your transmission might leak, or the transmission filter could be blocked. A blocked filter will restrict the flow of fluid through the transmission. We’ll investigate and solve the slow response problem.

Buzzing, Humming, and Whining

None of these sounds are pleasant, especially when you keep hearing them when you’re driving. A slight buzzing sound will usually appear first. It starts quietly but will become louder as time passes. This noise can turn into an annoying humming or whining noise if the problem isn’t resolved. A manual transmission produces a harsher clunking noise.

Weird noises from the transmission are never a good sign and need to be checked. These noises point to several possible issues, including damage to the torque converter, worn gears, or even a lack of transmission fluid. We’ll examine the transmission and find and fix the cause of these annoying sounds.

Transmission problems only get worse if they’re not repaired. Call us today at Devils Lake Ford, and our Ford-trained technicians will fix the problem for you.
